Save energy and money with other ENERGY STAR certified appliances.
On average, a 15-year-old refrigerator uses twice as much energy as a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator. By properly recycling your old refrigerator and replacing it with a new ENERGY STAR certified model you can save up to $300 and reduce your carbon footprint by as much as 10,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions over the next five years.
The average U.S. family washes almost 300 loads of laundry each year. An ENERGY STAR certified clothes washer uses about 45% less water and about 25% less energy than a regular washer and can save you as much as $380 in energy over its lifespan.
ENERGY STAR certified electric clothes dryers use approximately 20% less energy than standard models without sacrificing features or performance. How do they do it? Energy-saving technologies like moisture sensors detect when clothes are dry and automatically shut the dryer off. The low heat setting lets your clothes run for a longer drying cycle at lower heat, which uses less energy to dry your clothes. Plus, many models include convenience features such as steam cycles that prevent wrinkles, saving you time on ironing.
More than 80% of U.S. homes have a clothes dryer. If all clothes dryers sold in the United States were ENERGY STAR certified, Americans could save as much as $1.5 billion a year in utility costs and prevent greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to more than 2 million vehicles.*
Two-Speed Pool Pumps
Your pool pump could be your home's second largest energy user, costing you as much as $550 in energy every year. Pool pumps that have earned the ENERGY STAR are independently certified to save energy, save you money, and help protect the environment.
Room Air Conditioners
New ENERGY STAR certified room air conditioners come with better materials and clearer instructions to reduce air leaks and help you save you on energy bills. Today’s models cost only about $75 per year to run! Some even come with smart functionality that allows you to control the unit remotely with your phone or computer.
ENERGY STAR certified freezers are at least 10% more energy efficient than the federal standard. Replacing your old freezer with one that has earned the ENERGY STAR could save you $195 over the next five years.
