Clothes Dryers

ENERGY STAR certified electric clothes dryers use approximately 20% less energy than standard models without sacrificing features or performance. How do they do it? Energy-saving technologies like moisture sensors detect when clothes are dry and automatically shut the dryer off. The low heat setting lets your clothes run for a longer drying cycle at lower heat, which uses less energy to dry your clothes. Plus, many models include convenience features such as steam cycles that prevent wrinkles, saving you time on ironing.

More than 80% of U.S. homes have a clothes dryer. If all clothes dryers sold in the United States were ENERGY STAR certified, Americans could save as much as $1.5 billion a year in utility costs and prevent greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to more than 2 million vehicles.*
