Smart Home Pilot Program

The gateway connects to your home internet using the provided Ethernet cable and acts as the centralized hub for all your Pepco Smart Home Pilot devices. This hub allows you to control and manage your smart home from any location using your iOS or Android device.

Installing Your Gateway

Step 1: Remove all the contents from your Pepco Smart Home Pilot gateway box.

Step 2: In the Pepco Smart Home app, tap the menu icon in the upper left corner: Home > Add Devices > Gateway. You should see a QR code scanner open. Turn the gateway upside down and hold your phone over it as if you were taking a picture. The app will automatically scan the QR code.

Step 3: After the gateway is scanned, plug the micro-USB side of the cable into the micro-USB port on the gateway.

Step 4: Plug the USB-A side (larger side) of the cable into the power adapter.

Step 5: Plug the Ethernet cable into the gateway.

Step 6: Take the gateway, connected cables and power adapter to your internet connection (router). Locate an available Ethernet port. Typically, the ports are on the back of your modem or Wi-Fi router. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into an available Ethernet port.

Step 7: Plug the power adapter into one of your wall’s power outlets. As the gateway is powering on, you will see a sequence of green and orange flashing lights.

Step 8: Once you get a solid green light, you are ready to proceed, and the app will advance automatically. From here, you can install the devices in any order you wish.

Note: The gateway must use the power supply and cable that came with the system due to the sensitivity of the device.

How Do You Reset the Gateway?

Remove the power cable and Ethernet cable. Using a paper clip, press and hold down in the small pinhole at the top of the device beside the LED lights.
