These simple steps outline the process of a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR retrofit from start to finish.Step1When a Pepco customer in Maryland contacts you to discuss upgrading their home’s energy efficiency, discuss their concerns and schedule a Home Energy Assessment.Step2Complete the comprehensive Home Energy Assessment at the Pepco customer’s home. The assessment includes a complete visual inspection, diagnostic tests and installation of several simple, energy-saving measures such as energy-efficient lighting and efficient-flow showerheads.Step3After completing the assessment, provide the Pepco customer with a Home Energy Assessment Report that details the findings and recommendations for improvements. In the report, you will include any applicable rebates available from Pepco and estimated energy savings.Step4 Your Pepco customer then decides which improvements to install and you perform the work. Possible energy efficiency improvements include:Adding insulation and sealing air leaksSealing and insulating ductworkWindow replacements as part of a larger air sealing and insulation jobImproving heating and cooling systemsUpgrading lighting, appliances, and water heating equipmentStep5Test the end result for efficiency, and address any air quality or safety issues immediately.Step6Within 30 days of the installation, submit the rebate application on behalf of your Pepco customer.Take advantage of this opportunity!
